Lyndsay and Nate's Honeymoon Sunrise Session at Otter Cliff in Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine

Preparing for this trip was super stressful. It was the first time in years I was away from Lou and the dogs for that long of a time period. Not only that, this was wedding number 5 for me in September alone, and my wedding season wasn’t even at it’s peak yet. Oh, and I had just a month and a half prior found out that I was pregnant. Talk about stress! ;] On top of all of that, I knew that we essentially had one day of no driving and non-work related things, so I tried to figure out how I could jam in all of the touristy Bar Harbor things into an afternoon. Christie and I maybe slept four or five hours each night we were there. We spent two of our three mornings in Bar Harbor enjoying the sunrise by the ocean and three days of shooting in the beautiful scenery. Let me tell you, I couldn’t have been happier to be so sleepy because I knew that I was taking in as much of this incredible place as I could. We were on the go non-stop for five days, eating all of the New England things and seeing all of the gorgeous sites of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.
Our last day in Bar Harbor was spent exploring Otter Cliffs with Lyndsay and Nate during their honeymoon sunrise session. I’m a sucker for sunsets, but there’s just something so calming about spending a chilly morning on the cliffs by the ocean, watching the sun peek up over the horizon and kiss the shoreline with a beautiful, warm glow. It’s impossible to sit there and watch something so incredible like that and not be thankful for everything. I truly felt that in that very moment. I had a great opportunity to road trip with one of my best buds to a place we’ve never been, doing what we love (photography), creating unique works of art for my couples for one of the best days of their lives, all while knowing that this little human in my belly was by my side for this whole crazy, beautiful journey. I’m so grateful to have the most amazing couples, including the ones who want me to pack up and drive through the New England states to the ocean, just to be able to document their wedding day. I’m so grateful to have such wonderful friends to have experienced all of the beauty with in Maine. I couldn’t have asked for a better trip, and more importantly, a better elopement for Lyndsay and Nate! <3
