Emily and Karl's Late Summer Garden Engagement Session at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park in Youngstown, Ohio
I’ve known Emily’s sister since our college days at Youngstown State University, where we were both studying photography. To be recommended by another photographer is always such an honor, and I was thrilled to get to know Emily, Karl and their little son. They are such a sweet, laid back family!
We navigated our way through the wedding day crowd at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park in Youngstown, Ohio for their engagement session. I absolutely loved seeing Emily and Karl interact with their son and especially loved seeing the pure joy radiating from their faces as little Karl ran around in complete bliss. Maybe it’s in part because I have a little son of my own, but I also know just how special their wedding day will be for them to be able to share it with their son and closest friends and family. They are such a strong family unit as it is, and to be able to celebrate that as a married couple is a beautiful thing!
The first time I met Emily, she told me about the proposal and it made my heart so happy - I’m such a sap! Karl planned a family photo shoot at the Mount Washington overlook in Pittsburgh, where Jamie (Emily’s sister) was there to take “family photos” of the three of them. Little did Emily know, her sisters were in on the secret. While Emily’s back was turned, Karl got down on one knee and proposed. She was completely caught off guard! But the surprise wasn’t over. They went out to dinner afterwards, where Karl had both of their families waiting to celebrate. Awwww, am I right?! I just love it! Anytime family is a part of a proposal story, I’m just heart eyes for days.
I’m soooo looking forward to their wedding day in October at South Point Golf Club in Canonsburg, PA. The venue will be decorated with jewel toned colors and Fall accents. Emily has such great style, so I know the decor will be beautiful! Like Emily and Karl, I’m really looking forward to seeing little Karl all dressed up! It’s going to be a wonderful day!
