Ana + Josh | Personalized Winter Wedding | Union Tower + The Grand Resort | Warren, Ohio

Well since it’s been quite cold and snowy for the start of Spring, this wedding blog seems to fit right in. I have to say that I’m not sure I’ve seen another couple and bridal party roll with the punches quite like Ana, Josh and their friends. Just the night before their wedding, we had a TON of snow dumped on us. The wedding day itself was frigid, windy and continued to snow. That’s definitely not what Ana had in mind while she was planning this wedding, but when I tell you that this couple made the most of it and didn’t bat an eye, I mean it! This bridal party stood outside in 17 degree weather (plus wind and snow!) and did not complain to me once. Not even once! And to be honest, the snowflakes floated around like we were in a giant snow globe. It was worth 20 minutes in the cold honestly because it looked so great in the photos!

We started our day at The Grand Resort (Avalon Inn) in Warren, Ohio. I’m a sucker for details and Ana is too, which is part of the reason why I love this wedding so much. The level of sincere thought and personalization Ana, Josh and their family brought to the celebration is truly special. Like Josh’s Grandma’s earrings that were given to Ana in a hand sewed pouch made out of his Grandma’s wedding dress, along with a hand written letter. Or how about the letter Josh wrote Ana when he was 16 years old, that read on the envelope, “For when it’s our wedding day”. Are you teary eyed yet? Or how about the homemade limoncello made by Josh’s Grandpa and the glasses that were once gifted to him and his wife for their wedding, only to be passed down to Josh and Ana on their wedding day with guests loudly cheering, “SALUTE!” while they shared a drink during the unity portion of the wedding ceremony? I could honestly go on and on because there were so many special details like this sprinkled throughout the entire day.

Now that you have a good idea of how sentimental this wedding was, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention just how much fun it was, too. Like, these two know how to through a freakin party!! We wrapped up our evening at the Grand Pavilion at the resort with excellent food, tons of dancing and an endless cookie table. I saw a lot of wild dance moves (groomsmen, I’m talkin to you! AYYYY) and not gonna lie, I was living for it. It was the perfect way to end a wedding!
