Mill Creek Park Engagement Session | Mary Catherine & Chad

The very second I met Mary Catherine and Chad, I knew how crazy they were about each other. They would light up every time the other spoke, and it was just so sweet to be in the presence of two people who are completely head over heels for each other. We spent an hour just chatting away, talking about wedding and about life.

I was so excited to get to work with these two! The hopeless romantic in me was so giddy and swooning from behind my camera during their engagement session. I knew that when we started shooting, I was just going to be oo-ing and aw-ing at every little thing they did because they are just so connected and vibrantly in love. They made my job a breeze! I just sat back and watched the sweet romance unfold :]

Chad and Mary Catherine both have daughters the same age and met each other through their daughter's friendship. Chad was drawn to Mary Catherine's smile and laid back personality, so he approached her to ask her out. He actually asked her out three different times, but every time Mary Catherine already had plans and had to respectfully decline. Good thing for Chad's persistence though! She decided to meet him out for a drink one night on his birthday and ended up chatting for four hours! Umm. Best birthday present ever, Chad. You got the woman of your dreams ;]

When I asked Mary Catherine what attracted her most to Chad, she simply said, "He made me feel beautiful. He still does. He allowed me to be me and not feel like I had to pretend." This resonated with me because this is exactly how I felt when I met my husband. All the fear and self conscious thoughts I had just completely washed away and I was left with my authentic self. Finding someone you can blossom and grow with is such a special thing and I love witnessing it and capturing it for the world to see through photographs.

Sometimes, the simple things are the most beautiful. When Chad proposed to Mary Catherine, he didn't have a game plan or design some crafty, elaborate production. He simply went over to her house at 8:30 one morning, got down on one knee and said, "Will you marry me?" My favorite part of this story is that she was still in her pajamas :P They will be getting married at the end of this month at The Avalon Country Club at Squaw Creek in Vienna, Ohio. Mary Catherine is looking forward to saying "I do" to Chad forever and Chad cannot wait to call her his wife and see her in her wedding dress! And I can't wait to swoon over these two some more on their wedding day! :]
