Chelsea and Jared's Summer Beach Engagement Session at Headlands Beach State Park in Mentor, Ohio
I fall in love with Lake Erie every time I'm there. There are a few particular lakes around here that hold such great memories for me and Lake Erie is one of them. Getting to photograph there combines so many wonderful things for me, so I was over the moon excited when Chelsea mentioned Headlands Beach State Park in Mentor, Ohio for her and Jared's engagement session. No, I'd never been there before but I absolutely love a good adventure with my couples! The weather was perfect for their engagement session and we were so fortunate to have some cool clouds and a magical sunset!
Chelsea and Jared are total naturals in front of the camera, there's no question about that! Honey, I could photograph them for hourrssssss on a beach at sunset. Which we kind of did, but we also had two absolutely adorable kiddos with us for that added level of fun! I ADORE Ava and Aza to no end! They're smart and kind and sweet as can be. They're also fun! We had a good time exploring the areas, playing games while I photographed them and they even helped me take pictures of their parents - because nothing's cuter than these two girls putting on their very own air guitar rock concert to make Chelsea and Jared laugh as I shot away :P
One thing that I love about this couple is that their very much family oriented. They truly value the relationships they have with the ones that are closest to them and that speaks to me 100 percent because I'm the same way. So when I heard about Jared's proposal to Chelsea, it totally turned on the "awwww" switch for me! They were on vacation with their families at Dewey Beach in Delaware. Jared initially was going to propose on the beach with the girls by his side. When he realized that their families were hanging out on the balcony of their beach house, Jared quickly changed his plans, put on one of their favorite songs by Thomas Rhett (Die a Happy Man) and popped the question surrounded by the most important people in their lives. Swoon!
Another thing that had me oh so excited to work with Chelsea and Jared was their sense of style. I mean, they are the most stylish family ever - the proof is in the pictures! It's not just their personal style that I love, but also their wedding style. I'm all about natural chic, greenery and romantic lighting. Yes, their wedding will have all of that and I'll be in heaven. To match the greenery, there will be draping lights and fabric along with pops of neutrals, burgundy and deep pink. I can't wait to see what they come up with but even moreso, I can't wait to see how happy everyone will be to celebrate these two beautiful people! They are just so deeply in love with each other and all of the special people in their lives that I know this is going to be one amazing celebration. I'm just so fortunate to be a small part of it :]
