Lauren and Steve's Personal and Romantic Summer Barn Wedding at The Grand Barn at the Mohicans in Glenmont, Ohio
It’s no surprise that Fall is my busiest time of the year. I think my absolute favorite month for weddings is September. That month has brought me some of the most magical weddings. Lauren and Steve’s was one of them this year! I don’t know how many times I just wanted to break down and cry happy tears. They are some of the kindest people I know and there were so many moments during the day that were filled with so much emotion and joy and love - I couldn’t handle it! I’ve gotten to know these two over the years and they are so deserving of every ounce of happiness their wedding day and their future holds for them.
My second shooter (Christie) and I made the two hour trek to The Grand Barn and Event Center at The Mohicans in Glenmont, Ohio. I’ve been looking forward to this wedding for a bunch of reasons, but one of them was because of the treehouses. Listen, I LOVE treehouses - like probably more than a person should. I’m obsessed with the show Treehouse Masters, so I’ve known about these awesome treehouses at The Mohicans for quite some time. I wanted to squeal when I saw them (and I only saw a few but my 7 year old self was exploding with excitement). But I had to pull it together for a little while because we started the day in one of the cabins (treehouse photos to come later :P). Lauren had the most beautiful details - very simple but super elegant. Not to be outdone, Steve had some stellar details of his own. This couple is seriously #stylegoals - for real. Every bit of this wedding was touched with simple but super beautiful details.
I’m glad we didn’t have to wait long to do Bridal Party and Bride and Groom portraits because I seriously COULD NOT wait for Steve to see how incredible Lauren looked. I just knew his jaw was going to hit the ground, and it certainly did. Both of their reactions during the first look were priceless. As we were walking to a new location to take more pictures, Steve completely stopped us because he “needed to get a better look” of Lauren and really take it all in. He stepped back and the look on his face said this woman is going to be MY wife. It was sooooo sweet!
We wrapped up bridal party photos and took to the trees! It was one of the highlights of my day, for sure! It felt like we were floating in the sky as we braved the long suspension bridge that lead to one of the treehouses. Like I told you before, totally magical day. As we headed back to the barn to chill before the ceremony, the storm couldn’t hold off any longer and rolled right through. Lauren and Steve had the best attitude, as we waited out the storm, dried off the chairs outside and continued the celebration at the gorgeous outdoor setting with rolling fog in the background.
It was clear the rest of the evening and the party continued outside with some dancing under the twinkle lights and great music by the Blue Water Kings Band. It was the perfect way to end a perfect day! <3
