Top Five Reasons to Book a Wedding Videographer | Guest Post by Emily Rusu of Jet Weddings from Youngstown, Ohio
Today on the blog is Emily Rusu of Jet Weddings. She is one half of a husband and wife team that shoots weddings here in Youngstown, Ohio. I actually met Emily YEARS ago in college, so our collaborating days go waaaaay back. We were both a part of an internship at Youngstown State University to redesign and add new content for the STEM website. Years went by after we graduated where we hadn't seen each other and then we reconnected through our local Tuesday's Together chapter and the Rising Tide Society. I love that we're in the same industry all these years later! We get more chances to work together and I absolutely love it! Her and Bill are so laid back, fun and seriously so easy to work with. So I'm just so thrilled that Emily is sharing her knowledge on the blog today!!
From Emily:
Hi! I'm Emily Rusu and I'm a huge nerd. My hobbies are reading, writing, playing video games and spending quality time with my dog, Maximus. I spend a lot of my time doing what I love - producing video! I own Jet Wedding Videography with my husband, Bill. Being able to capture memories and emotions from the best day of someone's life is truly an honor. I also love meeting so many brides and grooms with unique wedding days!
As if owning a wedding videography business wasn't enough, I am also a co-owner of Jet Creative, a marketing company in Youngstown, Ohio. I use my skills of videography, graphic design and website programming to bring business messages to life.
Today, I want to talk about wedding videography and why you need to book a videographer for your wedding day. SO. Your big day is here. Your dress is perfect, the flowers are fresh and you found the perfect partner for the rest of your life. The day plays out perfectly - a beautiful ceremony flowing flawlessly into the celebration.
Once your big day is over, you try to relive that day. You think back to everything you can remember and regret any moments you may have missed. While you can rely on memories, family members and photos to reminisce about your wedding day, a video can help you remember it in an entirely different way. Because video is so special, here are my top five reasons why you SHOULD book a wedding videographer for your wedding day.
1. Wedding videos uniquely tell the story of your day.
Your wedding day isn't just an event - it's a love story. A wedding video tells the full story of your relationship, from the nerves in the morning to the party in the evening. Wedding videos aren't just a shot of the kiss and a shot of the cake, but they include those important moments in between, bringing everything together to recreate the emotions and overall atmosphere. It's the closest thing to reliving your wedding day.
2. Wedding videos capture what you miss.
Through your eyes, your wedding day was wonderful. With so many things going on, there's no way for you to experience everything. You probably missed flower girl and ring bearer holding hands and stumbling down the aisle while you were hiding and waiting to walk down. Or while you were grabbing a drink, did you see your grandparents dancing during your reception? What about those anxious final thoughts uttered by your future spouse moments before getting married? Unless you were with him, you didn't hear it. Wedding videographers certainly capture the most important moments, but they also capture the small and unexpected moments that make your wedding day unique.
3. Sound is invaluable.
While pictures and video of the day's events are important, audio is even more priceless. Months or years down the road, you won't be able to remember that hilarious joke your best man made that got everyone in the banquet hall laughing. You can't re-hear the way you cried through your vows. A great wedding video includes great audio, which will truly immerse you in the memory of your wedding day.
4. Thanks to modern technological advancement, wedding videos look like movies.
Wedding videos have evolved and taken on a professional, cinematic quality, meaning you can enjoy your video without the distractions of shaky footage or inaudible sound. The cheesy "America's Funniest" wedding videos are a thing of the past. Gone are the days of inviting everyone over to sit down and watch an 8 hour VHS tape of your wedding day. Now, you can even share it on social media.
5. The biggest regret from brides and grooms is that they didn't hire a wedding videographer.
Once the day is over, it's over. It can't be recreated. However, if you had a wedding videographer, you have documented moments that you can look back on for a lifetime. You'll be able to re-watch your vows, laugh at your best man's joke and realize how big your flower girl has gotten since that day. Above all, you'll be able to recapture the love you felt from your spouse and family on the biggest day of your life, for the rest of your life!
So, when planning and budgeting for your wedding, I encourage you to think about how you will look back on your wedding 10 years from now. Would you wish you had more than just beautiful photos and cell phone Snapchats of the biggest day of your life? Do you wish you knew what your husband was feeling, right before the ceremony? Do you wish you could hear your Grandma's laughter as she danced to her favorite song with your Grandfather? If you answered yes, then don't forget to add a videographer to your wedding vendor checklist!
