I love being a wedding photographer. The wedding day and preparation are so much fun and special for me (yes, you can call me crazy). There’s always so much anticipation, excitement and beautiful chaos that I completely enjoy. While wedding days are wonderful, I think engagement sessions with my couples are equally as exciting. This is usually the time throughout the whole process where I really really get to know my couples. Plus, we’re able to slow down and take our time navigating the session and really get to have a lot of fun in the process….

You guys, 2018 was great on so many levels. Although I ended the year completely exhausted, my heart was so full with gratitude! I shot my record high number of weddings, got to become friends with seriously the coolest, most fun couples and even had the opportunity to live out a dream - travel to a beautiful place to photograph a wedding, which I was so lucky to go to Bar Harbor, Maine in September.

I rang in the new year wondering where 2019 would take me and how I would even begin to top last year. And then I photographed Shelby and Tyler’s engagement session…

There’s snow on the ground and it isn’t even Thanksgiving. Naturally, I’m over here daydreaming about warmer Fall days so I thought Erin and Shawn’s engagement session would be a perfect way to take me back to those feels! It was a cooler Fall day, but no where near 30 degrees! The fiery colors hadn’t even peaked yet, but there was just enough to get those Fall vibes and smell of the fallen leaves. Erin and Shawn chose Sapphire Creek Winery to shoot their session, and let me tell you, that venue did not disappoint! There was tons of beautiful scenery in the woods, outdoor fires to get all the cozy Fall feels and a stunning indoor area with floor to ceiling windows, soft, clean colors and, of course, wine! What could be more perfect?!…
