Summer engagement sessions are some of my favorite because of all of the greenery we get to be surrounded by. When trying to nail down the location for Julia and George’s engagement session, I got excited when Julia mentioned the Poland Forest because she wanted a woodsy feel. I’m all about a good hike in the woods, especially for beautiful photos! I don’t know why I don’t shoot in Poland, Ohio more, but there are so many beautiful locations at our disposal….

Read MoreThis year has been a whirlwind to say the least. While Augie and Ryan’s “engagement session” was the first time I did “engagement” pictures after a couple got married, I wouldn’t say I’m shocked in any way (thanks 2020). These two were originally planning an October 2020 wedding but decided to push it back to 2021. With that, we pushed their engagement photos back and actually shot them the week of their original wedding date. Prior to our session, Augie and Ryan decided that they were going to get married in an intimate ceremony in Ryan’s parent’s backyard surrounded by the people who are closest to them. Any couple who takes this route - I applaud you one million percent! Marriage is about the love after all; the party is an added bonus. And there will always be a time in the future for the big celebration, but for now, in a time where minimalism has taken the reigns in many people’s lives during this pandemic, an intimate ceremony with a handful of people is *CHEFS KISS* perfect….

When she reached out to me about her own wedding, I was so excited that I may or may not have squealed with joy. Covid put a damper on Spring engagement photos, but we couldn’t have had a better August evening to explore Squire’s Castle and Lily Lagoon in Willoughby Hills, Ohio. I feel so fortunate to photograph in the Cleveland Metroparks and I feel like every time I shoot out there, I find a new location that I just love. The lagoon was that magical spot for me. It was so quiet and not a very high traffic area, so it made for a little more privacy as we photographed….
