I feel like I’m saying this a lot lately, but I’m just so thankful for my job because it has reunited me with people I haven’t seen in many, many years. Like Marissa! We both studied art at Youngstown State University, where we met during our internship. We’ve kept in touch throughout the years thanks to social media, but I really don’t think I had seen her since graduating, which was over ten years ago (yikes!). So when Marissa and Anthony got engaged, I was so over the moon happy for them. And when Marissa asked me to be her wedding photographer, I was really really over the moon happy!…
Read MoreIt’s true. On wedding days, you can find me hiding teary eyes behind my camera. It usually happens at least once during a wedding day because I’m a total sap. Not only that, but I develop such a unique relationship with each of my couples that I become so overjoyed by their happiness and excitement. Anna and Drew’s wedding day was no different. I hid behind my camera quite a few times that day. Not only on the wedding day, but each and every time I went through their wedding collection, I cried the happiest of tears. There was just something about this wedding, these people, the circumstances - it gets me every time. Sure, in this blog you’re only seeing a small portion of what I’ve seen in all of the final photos, but I see so much emotion and joy when I look at these. I go through the photos and I see the locket with a picture of Drew’s late mother. This special detail was carried down the aisle at his sister’s wedding, and on this wedding day, Drew had it in his pocket in honor of his mother. Anna had special details from her close loved ones - a coin from her sister, two handkerchiefs - one from her mother and one from her grandmother, Drew’s mother’s bracelet. The table numbers at the reception dinner equalled seven, the same number of years Anna and Drew have been together. Little details like those create a lasting memory and make each wedding unique….
Read MoreI don’t typically book last minute weddings the week before the event, but something drew me to Carla, Charles and their intimate courthouse wedding. I am so glad I had the morning open and was able to spend it with the two of them! They’re so sweet and very easy to chat with, not to mention suuuuuuuper easy to photograph. I low key think they lied and are actually models disguised as a chef and engineer. Just look at them! They’re pure magic and I’m one million percent here for it….
Read MoreI just love it when Mae B Photo Bridesmaids turn into Mae B Photo Brides! I met Anna a few years back when she was a bridesmaid in Becca and Rich’s wedding. When she reached out to me about her own wedding, I was so excited that I may or may not have squealed with joy. Covid put a damper on Spring engagement photos, but we couldn’t have had a better August evening to explore Squire’s Castle and Lily Lagoon in Willoughby Hills, Ohio. I feel so fortunate to photograph in the Cleveland Metroparks and I feel like every time I shoot out there, I find a new location that I just love. The lagoon was that magical spot for me. It was so quiet and not a very high traffic area, so it made for a little more privacy as we photographed….
