2017 Weddings - Behind the Scenes

Everyone has seen beautiful wedding photos, right? Sometimes those beautiful and perfect moments are all you see. There's A LOT that goes on behind the scenes that most people don't see or even know about. As a wedding photographer, I am pretty much there for the entirety of the day. I see a lot of crazy things along with the super special moments. Then there are the ridiculous things we do as photographers to get those beautiful shots. On more than one occasion I've been looked at very strangely for doing something very odd. September might have been the most insane month in my business to date. Five weekends shooting four weddings and attending one wedding as a guest - of which three weddings were out of town. But I knew I was going to wrap up my September weddings with a very chill and very fun one. After all, it was Sarah and Randy's wedding. Bobbi and Pat's Intimate Fall Cabin Elopement at Hocking Hills in Logan, Ohio

Take me into the woods on some trails I've never been on before surrounded by Earth's very own architecture and I'm a happy camper. Throw a wedding in the mix - excitement overload. And when it's one of my best friends? I'm completely over the moon. That was how Lou and I spent our Friday a little over a week ago. We packed up my car veeeery early in the morning and made the 3.5 hour trip south to arrive on a dirt road at a gorgeous cabin. But let me rewind for a second, because I really need you to know how special this moment was for me....
