How to Choose Images for your Wedding Album

Sorting through hundreds of images from your wedding day to narrow down what will go in your album can be a daunting task. I know because I’ve been there! I had TONS of beautiful images that I was obsessed with from my wedding day. Some showed off the details of my wedding day and every time I look at those photos, I see a piece of myself with the vintage camera centerpieces, my mother with the handmade pieces of decor, my grandmothers with the lace doilies, vintage milk vases and old books, our dogs with the hanging photos and our cake topper and our lives scattered in every aspect of our wedding day. I see all of the hard work we put into planning that wedding. I see family members coming together for the first time in a long time. I see two different families joining. I see joy and happy tears and everything in between. How do I possibly choose from all of these important parts?

I thought about the images that would tell the story of my wedding day. Not only that, but I thought about my future kids and grandkids. What images would I want them to see? After all, I want them to look at this family heirloom and get to know their 27 year old grandma and grandpa. I want them to feel the love in that day. I want them to not only get the story of our wedding day, but the story of what was important to us in our lives. They’ll see pieces of my parents and Lou’s parents and our grandparents. That is what I thought about when I chose the images I chose for my wedding album, and that is what I encourage my couples to think about too.

In the video below, I walk you through how to pick images that you love while also telling the story of your wedding day. Since I walked through each section of a wedding day, this video is a long one.
