Delorean and Chase's DIY Summer Wedding at Boardman Park in Youngstown, Ohio
They say rain on your wedding day is good luck. I’d imagine flooding on your wedding day is even better luck? Well, I certainly think so! For Delorean and Chase’s wedding, we had blue skies and downpours and rainbows and a pretty sunset. I’d say all of the rain was worth it - it brought us such beautiful, golden light for photos!
I started the day at Holiday Inn in Boardman, Ohio with the girls. Everything was very chill - you can tell everyone was just ready for this wedding to celebrate these two awesome people! We had a lot of sunshine and heat, but once we got to the chapel in Boardman Park, it started to rain and barely let up so we could run into the church. We spent much of the afternoon playing a guessing game with the weather, but we certainly made the most of it! After the incredibly sweet and sentimental ceremony, we were hit with another round of rain. But there was some form of sunshine magic in the air because the rain stopped and we got some beautiful golden light to finish up the bridal party photos in - which I’d say is a total win! We laughed, we sang and we told stories in Irish accents to make the day even more fun :] All the while, everyone kept in good spirits and didn’t let the weather bring them down.
We wrapped up the night down the street at the Union Hall for their reception. Now, I’ve never met a cookie table I didn’t like buuuuut this table was PACKED with the best of the best! The buckeyes were the biggest I’ve ever seen and their was a pumpkin roll I couldn’t wait to smash on :P Guests hung out, socialized, danced, had fun in the photo booth and I was almost talked into joining a bowling league by Delorean’s teammates. While that is all great, I will say that the absolute best part about the day was how emotional and truly happy this union was. The amount of love Delorean and Chase have for each other is beyond words. I couldn’t be happier that these two wonderful people found each other and can now call each other husband and wife. Congrats my friends!! <3
