DIY Baby and Dog Pacman Halloween Costume
Happy Halloween!!!
It’s one of my favorite days of the year, by far! When I got pregnant, one of the first things I pondered was what the dogs and the baby were going to be for Halloween. If you’ve been following my work for a while then you know that every year we do a fun shoot with the dogs in costume. More often than not, my mom and I end up making their costumes. Here’s my blog post from Halloween two years ago and last year, our shoot was epic because it wasn’t just Halloween, it was our pregnancy announcement (see that blog here). So this year, I was wracking my brain on what I could do with the three of them, how I would find time to make their costumes and get this post up all during my busiest time of the year. Sometimes I wonder why I decide to do this to myself every year but it’s totally worth it.
Since Atlas isn’t really mobile and doesn’t sit up for very long periods at a time, I knew his costume couldn’t be anything too big and over the top. Because of that, I decided on Pacman. Lou is a big gamer and I love the classic games, so I thought this would be perfect for us. Plus, the costumes were super easy to make! I just needed a quick trip to JoAnn Fabrics for the dog attire and I scored Atlas’ awesome ghost pants at Once Upon a Child for like $2. Everything cost me less than $20, which is icing on the cake!
Being the extra mama that I am, I just had to get Atlas a different outfit for trick or treating. He needed something warmer and more weather appropriate, so I picked up this hedgehog costume from Target (yas). I’m probably biased but I think he’s the cutest darn hedgehog I’ve ever seen!
