Lisa and John’s Vintage Travel Themed Barn Wedding at Running Horse Farm in Geneva, Ohio
Vintage details are my jam. Deep Fall colors are my jam. Greenery and repurposed bottles and gorgeous florals and globes and vintage suitcases and twinkle lights and a freakin boho wedding teepee are my jam. Obsessed just might be an accurate description of how I feel about Lisa and John’s wedding at Running Horse Farm in Geneva, Ohio. Every single detail Lisa came up with was just beautiful. Don’t even get me started on the fringe on her dress and her mermaid red hair!
Now that I sound like a total creep (I swear I’m not!), let’s talk about the barn that they got married in. The barn on Running Horse Farm was built by Lisa’s family. How many people can say that they got married in a space that was built by their Grandfather? I may be nerding out too hard on this, but I think it is so cool and so special. Another special detail that I love is the sweet memorial to Lisa’s mother during the ceremony. They had a chair with flowers on it and one of her jackets. Lisa also had a beautiful charm on her bouquet with her mother’s picture.
While I was busy photographing all of these beautiful details, the girls were hanging out in the bridal room at the barn, getting hair and makeup done. Everything was so chill, as I expected it would be with how laid back Lisa and John are. Just down the street, the guys were hanging out and getting ready for the wedding.
The rain held off for a little while but rolled in right as the ceremony was about to start. The ceremony was short and sweet and just enough time for the rain to stop so we could go outside for photos. We took advantage of the beautiful country scenery, and then headed down the street to the amazing boho teepee setup overlooking the pond. I tried to keep it together but I was sooooo excited to photograph at this incredible setup! The rug, pillows and vintage touches were done so well, not to mention the gorgeous floral arrangement on the teepee, with deep plums and reds and huge feathers to really make a statement.
Once we returned to the barn, the party was ready to start! Cockeye BBQ in Warren, Ohio catered the event and honestly, I never wanted to eat an entire plate of cheesy potatoes more than that night. The food was incredible! The rest of the night was very chill and full of dancing. It couldn’t have been a better day for two very deserving people. Congratulations Lisa and John! I’ll frolic in the rain with you any day :P
