Christine & Ed's Intimate Summer Wedding in Olmsted Falls, Ohio
There is absolutely no doubt that Covid-19 has changed the wedding industry. I feel awful for couples trying to plan a wedding during this strange season of life. Wedding planning definitely didn’t need to be more stressful, yet here we are. But I’m the kind of person who searches for the silver lining, and I think Christine and Ed’s wedding pretty much sums it up perfectly - small, personal, intimate, laid-back, simple and more than anything else, a true celebration of what matters the most, which is love.
June 13, 2020. This day transformed so many times, too many to count! It was their original wedding date. Then it turned into the day that once was as they postponed their wedding until later this year. From there, Christine and Ed decided that they wanted to take back control of what they could, which was that special date, and decided to legally get married. What was supposed to be their engagement session followed by their nuptials turned into more of a wedding than I think anyone expected. Now let me tell you, that is absolutely a happy accident if I ever saw one! It was literal perfect, and then some. Their immediate family joined as Christine and Ed both got ready in their home. Christine had her wedding gown and added touches of borrowed jewelry to tie into her look. Heritage Florist in Cortland, Ohio created a beautiful bouquet to add an extra element to Christine’s bridal look. Ed and Christine also had her grandfather’s jacket and it seemed like the best occasion to wear it. I love the sentiment and it was yet another speck of proof that things fall into place and happen just as they should!
Once ready, we made our way to the Charles A. Harding Memorial Covered Bridge in Olmsted Falls for a simple and sweet ceremony. They even had a Zoom call with a few more important people, just so they could be a part of the day - yet another reason to be so thankful for technology!! While the family headed back to the house for “tacos and tequila” (umm, YES PLEASE), Christine, Ed and I explored the park to take photos, chase light and have the best time doing it. Then it was time to join the party! There were margaritas and salsa and tacos and queso for days (no literally, DAYSSSSSS). We wrapped up shooting with some photos with the bubble machine Christine’s parents bought for the occasion. Shout out to dad for assisting me in those photos :P
I definitely have to say that if anyone did a corona wedding right, it was these two! Congratulations Christine and Ed! I’m sooooo ready for the big party next year!! <3
