Shafica and Jason's Summer Castle Engagement Session at Squire's Castle in Willoughby, Ohio
It feels like we waited an eternity to take these engagement photos! I swear we had at least three dates planned, but Covid-19 put a damper on us being able to shoot safely. But let me tell you, it was worth the wait. The greenery was lush and beautiful, the weather was nearly perfect and the golden light towards dusk was a photographer’s dream. Jason and Shafica both can attest to how much I squealed and screamed and jumped up and down out of excitement. It was such a fun evening! We started at Squire’s Castle in Willoughby, Ohio and ended in Chagrin Falls at the shops on Main Street. Those are two of my favorite places to shoot, or honestly just be at, because it’s just so beautiful.
As you can see in these photos, there was plenty of laughing and snuggling. I really got to know them both as a couple, and that’s my favorite thing about engagement sessions! They just fit together so perfectly. I’m sure you always hear people say find a partner that always has you laughing, and I think that’s very true. If that’s the case, these two are set for several lifetimes together.
Getting to know these two and hearing their proposal story further my belief that they’re truly meant for each other. Jason planned every inch of the proposal with Shafica in mind. He waited until her favorite holiday (Christmas), planned a special night in downtown Cleveland at the Renaissance Hotel where they have a large Christmas display and even recruited Shafica’s brother, Naseeb, to secretly film the proposal. Jason hid the ring in a wooden elephant puzzle box (Shafica’s favorite animal) and used that to pop the question. As if that wasn’t enough, he also invited their families to wait in a separate room to surprise and celebrate with them afterwards. Shafica, let me tell ya, he’s a real keeper!
I’m beyond excited for their wedding day in August at Waypoint 4180 in Canfield, Ohio. It will be a very classic and timeless look, with black, white and silver colors and pops of sparkle. I can’t wait to see it all come together!
