Allie + Nickie | Colorful Backyard Wedding | Kent, OH

From the very first time we talked about their wedding, Allie and Nickie described the most fun, colorful, laid back details that actually had me counting down the days until their wedding. It was everything a backyard wedding should be - entertaining, relaxing, emotional and FUN! The thing I love most is that it was anything but traditional. I always find that when certain traditions and expectations are thrown out the window, the vibe is much more relaxed and everyone has the best time. That’s ten thousand percent the case with Allie and Nickie’s wedding. Everyone was just enjoying each other’s company without a care in the world. Brides included! It was basically the most stress-free wedding I’ve ever attended and I’m here for it!

These brides were into details as much as me, so you can image just how happy I was while creating images form the beginning portion of the day. I absolutely loved all of the colors, patterns and textures! It was vibrant and joyful.

The ceremony took place with a decorated arbor and lush greenery as the backdrop. Fun side note, I can’t talk about this arbor without mentioning my mother, who handmade this gorgeous piece in a day. I’m telling you, she’s a wizard. It looked so beautiful with the pops of color from the floral arrangement. As another side note, the ceremony was my favorite part of the day. Hands down. It was so intimate and personal, which made for an emotional yet beautiful union.

The ceremony was followed by a super laid back reception, with loads of color, twinkle lights, origami mobiles, cozy blankets, yard games, karaoke and great food. It was the perfect end to a perfect day! Congratulations Nickie and Allie!!!
