Tara & Matt's Elegant Backyard Wedding in Kinsman, Ohio

I don't know what it is about the second Saturday in August, but it always seems to rain. You're probably wondering why I would even know this. Well, my family usually has our annual pig roast on the second Saturday in August, and lately it seems like we're fighting the weather more often than not. So when Tara was telling me about her backyard wedding and reception, I was crossing all of my fingers and hoping for the best for her! The sun was out earlier in the day and it looked promising. I think we all agreed that we'd rather take the muggy weather over the rain. The girls stayed cool in the air conditioning while they got ready for the day in their adorable robes! Jen and her team at The Make-up Boutique did an amazing job with the girl's makeup while Julia from Hair by Julia in Kinsman, Ohio gave Tara some soft, romantic curls.

The guys rocked a more casual look, with the Groomsmen in navy pants and a blue button up and Matt added a navy vest and rolled up sleeves. They added brown shoes and belts for a nice touch! It couldn't have been more perfect for a backyard wedding.

The ceremony and reception took place at Matt's parent's house. The ceremony was by the gazebo overlooking the pond and the reception was under a tent close-by. The rain was trying to interrupt the festivities, but once the cloud's broke, the ceremony began! Matt's brother drove the Bridal Party back to the pond while Tara made her grand entrance in a classic car driven by her father. Their ceremony was so sweet, and the rain held off just long enough for them to say I do. Then we all ran to the tent to stay dry!

We seemed to fight the rain for the remainder of the evening, but that didn't stop them from having a good time! We quickly took our Bridal Party photos until the rain stopped us. I think that was Mother Nature's way of telling us to get back to the party and have fun.

We ended the evening with a beautiful sunset, pretty greenery and decor, some good food, funny and heartwarming toasts and some really, really good company. My favorite thing about weddings is that it really doesn't matter what the petty stuff is, like rain or if some minor element of the wedding isn't exactly what it was supposed to be. Seriously, none of that matters. It's the who, not the what, that makes a wedding really great, and Tara and Matt were surrounded by some really amazing people that were there to celebrate their love. I'm so happy for you guys!!! Congrats!
