Halloween is one of my favorite days of the year. I love the costumes, decorations, pumpkins, movies, spooky things, haunted houses and everything else that goes along with it. I used to start planning my costume like 9 months in advance, so it’s no surprise that I do an annual Halloween shoot with my pups. It’s one of my favorite days of the year, by far! When I got pregnant, one of the first things I pondered was what the dogs and the baby were going to be for Halloween. If you’ve been following my work for a while then you know that every year we do a fun shoot with the dogs in costume. More often than not, my mom and I end up making their costumes. Here’s my blog post from Halloween two years ago and last year, our shoot was epic because it wasn’t just Halloween, it was our pregnancy announcement (see that blog here). So this year, I was wracking my brain on what I could do with the three of them, how I would find time to make their costumes and get this post up all during my busiest time of the year. Sometimes I wonder why I decide to do this to myself every year but it’s totally worth it….

Preparing for this trip was super stressful. It was the first time in years I was away from Lou and the dogs for that long of a time period. Not only that, this was wedding number 5 for me in September alone, and my wedding season wasn’t even at it’s peak yet. Oh, and I had just a month and a half prior found out that I was pregnant. Talk about stress! ;] On top of all of that, I knew that we essentially had one day of no driving and non-work related things, so I tried to figure out how I could jam in all of the touristy Bar Harbor things into an afternoon…
