Charles and Carla's Summer Courthouse Wedding | City Hall | Downtown Warren, Ohio
I don’t typically book last minute weddings the week before the event, but something drew me to Carla, Charles and their intimate courthouse wedding. I am so glad I had the morning open and was able to spend it with the two of them! They’re so sweet and very easy to chat with, not to mention suuuuuuuper easy to photograph. I low key think they lied and are actually models disguised as a chef and engineer. Just look at them! They’re pure magic and I’m one million percent here for it.
I was so curious to hear their story, especially after learning that Carla is from Mexico and Charles is from Canada. A couple of years ago, on a business trip, Charles walked into Carla’s restaurant in Talum, Mexico and it was over. They have been together since! Now they are staying in Northeast Ohio for work, which I’m sure is the last place they ever imagined they’d be getting married. Especially just the two of them, judge and a strange woman with some cameras :P These are exceptionally strange times we’re living in, and I say YOLO. Do what makes you happy, even if it means not having the big church wedding or extravagant decor. There will certainly be a time for that some day, but for right now, this is the season of life we’re all in. And quite honestly, their simple ceremony was beautiful! The weather couldn’t have been more gorgeous as they stood on the steps of City Hall in Downtown Warren, exchanged vows and a pulled down their masks for a sweet first kiss as husband and wife. They were dressed to absolute perfection and seriously look like such a timeless couple. The ceremony was quick, which gave us even more time to walk around Warren and take photos! Props to Carla for slaying in those high heels like a boss, because I definitely couldn’t take two steps in them, let alone all over downtown!
While this was their official wedding day, Carla and Charles definitely plan to have a celebration in Canada and in Mexico once it is safe for everyone to be together. What a celebration that will be! Congratulations Carla and Charles!! <3
