Getting to photograph there combines so many great things for me, so I was over the moon excited when Chelsea mentioned Headlands Beach State Park in Mentor, Ohio. No, I'd never been there before but I absolutely love a good adventure with my couples! They told me it was their first professional photo shoot as a couple. I didn't believe them, partly because of how flawless they were THE ENTIRE SESSION, partly because I ALWAYS see photos of them on social media and partly because Jessica is a professional photographer. I've known Jess for a few years. We initially met because of our professions at a local creative entrepreneurs meeting with a group called the Rising Tide Society. If you follow me on social, you know I talk about this group... a lot. It's an amazing group to learn from, but even more amazing to develop authentic, beautiful friendships from. I'm so grateful I met Jessica at one of these meetings and have gotten to work with her a few times at weddings. She's just a sweet and kind human being! I think it's true that the energy we put out into the world comes back to us. Sometimes that's in the form of life events. Sometimes that's in the form of relationships. If you're really lucky, it's both. When I first met Elizabeth and Dan, I could sense how chill and laid back they were, which totally spoke to me. Once we started shooting their engagement session the other night, I watched another layer peel back and saw just how much joy and laughter they share, together. Part of the fun that happens for me after I book a client is that I get to know them throughout the planning process, usually in the form of coffee or beer dates. With Morgan and Ryan, I didn't get to meet them in person until a couple of days before the wedding because they live in Wyoming.
