“We’re really awkward,” she said as we walked into the gardens. If I had a dollar for every time someone said that to me before I took their picture, I’d be rich by now. But just look at Jared and Julie! They are far from awkward! They were absolutely wonderful models and went along with all of my crazy ideas. They even threw in a few ideas of their own, which I absolutely love! We had the most beautiful golden light for their session and the Rose Gardens was really putting on a show with all of the beautiful blooms. I said it before and I’ll say it a million more times - photographing in the Rose Gardens in Mill Creek Park never gets old!…
Read MoreIn high school, I would spend a lot of my summer in Geneva, Ohio. A few of my friends have cabin’s there, so I always found myself at Lake Erie. There’s something so calming and peaceful about the water. Any time I get the opportunity to shoot at Geneva on the Lake, I jump at it because I love it so much! I’m sure you can imagine my excitement when Lisa and John said they’d like to have their engagement session there! It was especially great because they showed me places in the area that, for some reason, I had never been to….
Read MoreIsn’t it great when you meet someone and just mesh well together? That’s how I felt the first time I met Margarita and Tim. I could literally talk with them for hours - they’re totally my kind of people! I instantly clicked with them and know their wedding was going to be a fun one! I mean, they told me about their pet pig, MooShu, and I knew from that very second that I liked them :P The best part is, they wanted Moosh in their engagement pictures! Being the animal lover that I am, I was STOKED to play with her and get her in some pictures….
Read MoreI love personalization. I especially love when my couples want to stay true to who they are and be surrounded by things that mean something to them. When Kirsten mentioned shooting her and Noll’s engagement session near Lanterman’s Mill in Mill Creek Park (Youngstown, Ohio) because that’s where Noll proposed, I thought it was a perfect idea! We started by the mill with the covered bridge and cool stone architecture as a backdrop. By wandering around for an hour or so, I really got to know them as a couple and see just how well they mesh together. Their interaction with each other is sweet and silly and playful, which was fun to photograph! I actually thought Noll would be the shy one, but he was joking around the entire session. In all of the goofiness, he brought out this special quality in Kirsten that I hadn’t seen before. It was very apparent to me that they both find a level of comfort in each other unlike anything I’ve seen in a long time. The joy in their laughs and the smiles on their faces were 100% real. They balance each other out in a way that is just so beautiful and it makes me overjoyed to see how truly happy they are together!…
